REVEALED: More Governors, Senators To Dump PDP For APC

photoThe All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said that before the end of March 2014, about 9 state governors and more senators would dump the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join them.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, senior media adviser adviser to the Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, the party congratulated the11 PDP senators who defected last week, describing the move as a wise one while adding that "they have finally come back home and are warmly welcome to where they truly belong.”
The statement reads in part:

The emergence of APC to the political scene is the answer to the prayers of Nigerians in order to end the menace and hardship that PDP has foisted on our nation and in our polity,” he said.
“In the case of Senators Magnus Abe of Rivers South-East and Wilson Ake of Rivers West, we hail their dumping PDP for APC as a big boost to the Congress and a manifestation of the fact that the party is now well rooted in the state.
“APC is now in full control of Rivers political space and ready to deliver the state wholly to the party in the 2015 general elections. Rivers APC welcomes Senators Abe and Ake. Progressives adore you, Rivers people are proud of you; democrats salute your courage, your constituents are behind you.
“We are aware that Rivers PDP is pained and weeping for losing two Distinguished Senators, but would anybody expect progressive-minded Nigerians to remain in a failed, undemocratic, vision less, unfashionable and derailed party?”
He therefore called on the PDP to bury its head in shame.
