Ugbo Arrives Calabar, Unveils Campaign Office

Cross River State Governorship hopeful, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo yesterday arrived Calabar from Abuja after submitting his nomination to the warm welcome of a crowd of supporters who thronged the Margaret Ekpo International Airport to receive him.

The crowd who received him on arrival at 11.23am at the airport later escorted him in convoy to his campaign office located at 22 IBB Way, Calabar to declare open the office, then followed by a grand reception ceremony by his supporters and party stakeholders at the Calabar Cultural Center.
In his remarks at the campaign office, Ntufam Ugbo said: “We have not started campaigns, I only returned from Abuja where I went to drop my form and I could gather this crowd, am beginning to wonder what will happen from 30th of November, when I will formally start my campaign, so I believe Cross River State is ready for me and I want to tell Cross Riverians that I am also ready for Cross River State. I am ready and I’m prepared to serve the state.”
While addressing his supporters, he first and foremost thanked them for the warm reception accorded him and also promised that if elected as governor by 2015, he will give priority to Agriculture, Economic advancement, Tourism, Infrastructural development, Healthcare and other areas of need in the state. People say the state has much challenges, but Ugbo believes “it’s an opportunity to serve a state he has good experienced of.”
Various support groups turned up to receive the gubernatorial aspirant, these include Ugbo Solidarity Group(USG), Searchlight Group for Ugbo (SGU), Friends of Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Peoples Democratic Party Young Ladies Initiative (PDP-YLI), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Etung Women, Abi Women, Citizens Connect for Change (CCC), Ugbo Solidarity Movement, Obudu Group for Ugbo (OGU), Northern Cross River Youth Network, Grassroots Mobilizers for Ugbo, Cross River Youth Awareness Network etc.
