Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit the United States of America for the third time since he was inaugurated as the president. Buhari is to attend the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington DC at the end of March. Nigeria is among countries and international organizations to confirmed to attend the summit as of March 8, 2016.

President Barak Obama will host the event between March 30 and April 1. The president will reportedly be accompanied to the three-day event by three governors and six ministers. The preliminary list prepared by the presidency showed that 11 principal officers and a 23-member Advance team will also be include in Buhari’s team. President Buhari has recently returned from his one-week state tour to Middle East. He visited Saudi Arabia and Qatar for stabilization oil prices and for lesser Hajj in Medina. An average state trip costs Nigerians between half a million and $1.2million in traveling expenses alone.

The president’s visit to China for budget loan has been postponed until further notice. The summit will be the fourth to be hosted by President Obama, the first of them in 2010.
